Why should you quit smoking now? When you smoke you aren’t the only one affected. The smoke from your cigarette can harm not only you but everyone around you including your children. The secondhand smoke from your cigarette is combined smoke which comes directly from the smoker exhaling and he smoke coming directly from the tobacco source itself.
Tobacco smoke releases harmful chemical compounds into the atmosphere. Non-smokers are exposed to the same nicotine compounds as smokers are. They can cause harm to non-smokers who breathe them in unwillingly.
Is this not a good enough reason to quit smoking now? If not, read on. Consider your family if you smoke in your home. There is also proof that secondhand smoking can cause cancer in people. Over 60 chemicals compounds contained in tobacco smoke could cause cancer. Some of them are known to cause cancer. You can have separate seating areas for smokers and non-smokers in restaurants or other public places but still doesn’t stop the effects of the smoke from spreading.

In a public place everyone is exposed to secondhand smoke. Restaurants, malls, and public transportation as well as many other places - even daycare centers and schools – are exposed to secondhand smoke. It seems almost inescapable.
There are laws designed to protect the public and workplaces form secondhand some although they aren’t always implemented. However, in your home the best measure that you can take to protect your family form secondhand smoke is to stop smoking now.
When people don’t want to stop smoking the will blame health problems such illnesses as chronic bronchitis on the effects of dust and other allergens around the home. They will point to anything but the cigarette smoke as a possible cause. Once they cleanse their home of allergens and their health problems continue they are forced to realize that they need to quit smoking – NOW!
